In 2009, I was hired by Panador, a large Panama Hat company, to travel to Ecuador and photograph their hats and how they are made. My friend Jordan was hired to shoot a video for the company. This trip was especially exciting for me, while also a bit exhausting, because it was sandwiched within days of my graduation from college and my move to Japan.
Panama Hats are made form a special straw called Toquilla. Making a single Panama Hat is a long process, and these photos highlight the more raw stages of these beautiful hats.
Amazing photos!! I absolutely love the first one
Thanks so much!
