Our mission in San Martin del Bushio: photograph (or video, if your name is Jordan Elwell) the hat weavers at work.
The quality of Panama Hats depends mostly on the abilities of the weavers. In San Martin del Bushio many of the villagers spend their whole lives perfecting the art of weaving these hats. A simple hat can be woven in a couple days while the really quality hats can take several weeks to complete. It was really an amazing sight to see them at work.
