Jack and Jill
Today’s Photo Critique picture is from Jack and Jill. After selling everything, quitting, their jobs and settings out, these two have been traveling around the world and blogging the whole way. Prepare to be entertained by clever writing as well as stunning photos if you visit their killer travel blog. This shot is STOOC (straight out of camera… it’s not an official meme yet, but I’m working on it). Jack and/or Jill could likely edit this photo themselves in Photoshop or Lightroom but have graciously allowed me to take a crack at it instead.
Overall the shot is pretty awesome and there isn’t a whole lot to critique. I especially appreciate how level it is. You can tell because the window frame is parallel to the edge of the picture. Nice work! Also, the subject doesn’t look posed or fake. There are a few improvements to be made, however, so let’s dig in.
What I Like
- The girl is a friendly and compelling subject
- Colors and textures aplenty
- Composition is nice and even includes the couple through the window
Improvements
- Underexposed, especially on the girl’s face
- Colors and textures could be more vibrant
- Details could be sharper

Thanks for this – glad to be able to participate! I like the additional brightness and contrast u brought out to the dress.
Glad you like it! Thanks for letting me edit your photo
Actually, I had to dial down the saturation on the dress since it was really bright and stole attention.
Nicely done. Subtle, but effective.
Your really amazing..i like this kind of idea..thanks for sharing this to us..
Wow! I think this kind of application will bring a kind of beautiful kind in every captured image. How I wish It will take a new development.
